The project developed is a video/sound single screen work (possible multi channel) titled Tether exploring how the natural world can become accentuated through the addition of electronic based sound design.

The project aims to initiate and explore an audio visual experience, a hypomanic cinematic journey.  The video element at this stage is very open and I aim to capture moments as I develop the project in Mons.  The idea of ‘tether’ is to really explore the symbiotic connections between sound and image, the flex and movement between these two very connected senses.

The video work should be long enough to play on a loop and should ideally be projected in a dark space, with a very clear sound system.  The main drive of the piece comes from a very complex layered sound design and as such is critical for the project to be heard clearly.

Sam Spreckley

Scottish visual artist whom specializes in electronic imaging and sonic art. His work is very transient and sometimes jumps in style and technique.

The main focus conceptually of his work centers upon how we as humans perceive and understand the world through sensory exploration, specifically through notions of synesthesia and how our senses can be skewed.

He has exhibited Nationally and Internationally, most recently as part of the Royal Scottish Academy annual exhibition in Edinburgh, Scotland.
