Editorial Park in progress#10 Mons @ City Sonic 2014

For this tenth edition, Park in progress finds the city of Mons again, the City Sonic festival and its founder Transcultures, co-organizer of this project introduced by Pépinières européennes pour jeunes artistes and supported by the Culture Program of the European Commission.

The young artists and the professionals of the creation, selected at the end of the previous editions in saint Cloud, Pannonhalma, Nottingham, Mons, Huesca and Paris-Montreuil, are going to join twenty artists came from all Europe to imagine together, on the site of the old slaughterhouses, a night-ambulatory route which will be proposed to a wide public on September 11th, 2014 within the framework of the European Night of the young creation.

From 2 till 11 September, a residence, supervised by the teams of Park in progress and the City Sonic festival, dedicated to the meetings between the sound arts and the various fields of expression, will prepare the tenth edition of this itinerant demonstration. Park in progress will pursue its creative adventure to join then at the end of September, Nicosia (Cyprus) with Artos Foundation, then in October Huesca (Spain), with the municipality of this city within the framework of the Periferias festival and finally in December, 2014 Paris-Montreuil (France), where is settled the general delegation of Le Pépinières Européenne pour Jeunes Artistes.

For this second stage in the “Cité du Doudou”, a few months before the opening of Mons 2015, European capital of the culture, the partnership with the festival City Sonic strengthens.

The installations realized within the framework of this Park in progress residence will be presented, from 14 till 27 September, within the framework of the exhibition Sounds in progress, in la Grande Halle, to offer a wide visibility to original works proposed by the artists laureates of Park in progress.
