For the festival closing event and at the occasion of the opening of la Quinzaine numérique (the Digital Fortnight – see below), we will see the opening of Vice Versa, a multi-disciplinary event. From 2PM at Arts2 (Carré des Arts) and at the Frigo (in the former slaughterhouse), a multitude of creations will be presented, including interactive installations by Thomas Israël and Nicolas d’Alessandro (resulting from collaborations between the numediart institute and Transcultures), a mobile app mobile from the LarbitsSisters project Tubeplot, the Tanukis digital performance from François Zajega and Loïc Reboursière as well as a digital video selection from the video-art festival Vidéoformes (Clermont-Ferrand, France) and Vidéocollectifs (a video exchange initiative between several cities). With the launching of the Digital Fortnight in Mons, Transcultures presents Vice Versa 1 .0 with exhibitions (at Arts2 and le Frigo until October 16th), conferences (with Gabriel Soucheyre and Nathan Karczmar on October 3rd at Arts2, 11:30AM), presentations (at numediart October 3rd at 3PM) as well as meetings. In partnership with numediart, Arts2, le manège.mons (in the framework of the european project Espace(s) Son(s) Hainaut / Feder Interreg IV) and the support of the Media art Commission Ministry of Culture of the Wallonia-Brussels Federation. The exhibitions City Sonic are still open between 12 am and 6 pm. In order to give digital arts and its main actors more visibility, the Digital Fortnight was launched by the Ministry of Culture of the Wallonia-Brussels Federation in 2013. From September 27th til October 19th, 2014, the Digital Fortnight @ Mons will offer a free selection of exhibitions, conferences, workshops and projections on the theme “Programming or being programmed” which are open to all. A perfect opportunity to discover programming, robotics, electronics, the Android system, “cook hacking”, virtual graffiti, open source software and much more. These activities are proposed by about 20 local initiatives active in fields such as diverse as art, science, technology, education, entrepreneurship, event organization, etc.… Participating structures include: the digital arts section of d’Arts², le Café numérique, Connexion – Espace Coworking, Creative Monkey, Droit et Devoir, l’Espace Public Numérique de Mons, l’HELHa – Section Pub, les Jeudis du libre, les Jeunesses Scientifiques de Belgique, LoLiGrUB, la Maison du Design, the Microsoft Innovation Center, Mons2015, le Mundaneum, the Mons Repair Café, SMart, Technocité, Télé MB, Transcultures, le manège.mons, UMONS, numediart… For the opening of the Digital Fortnight on Saturday September 27th (2PM), all these local initiatives (also gathered as part of the Digital Coupole from Mons2015) will combine ressources during a free family afternoon open to all, during which visitors will be able to a attend robotic-science workshop, discover the inner-workings of 3D printers and computers, get to see theVice Versa 1.0 exhibition, hear electro-acoustic music, and much more.27.09 > 14:00 - Quinzaine Numérique Mons
