This video is of a reading from the eponymous poem written and read in a Brussels hotel room. It was the end of the 90’s, after a solo concert at Beursschouwburg, that Lee Renaldo (guitarist and co-founder of the New York group Sonic Youth) , and Hanzel & Gretzel shared the post beatnik legacy…a large North American space with on the road music of Sonic Youth.

Daniel Mangeon alias Hanzel & Gretzel (Nancy / Brussels / Paris -1966-2000) was a hybrid artist / videographer, de-constructor of mental images, meteor AV of the 90s who worked around William S. Burroughs, Coil, Heiner Muller, (in the form of installations), Rimbaud, Philip K. Dick . with Current 93, he worked with Ira Cohen, and Gerard Malanga for his releases of poetic audio pieces (Akashic peeper series) and short incisive videos about civil fragmentation, genocide, and global conflicts (Blind words area series). He has worked closely with the sound editor, Paradise Now.
