Projet Sonic Tubes (Creation)
“Two loudspeakers put on each side of a bridge, as well as underneath it, intermittently diffusing sounds of a fog horn”: this was the direction given by City Sonic to Emilien Leroy (Dunkirk), who is a sound project developer. His projects are in connection to industrial and post industrial environments, which he, in turn, surveys. If you ask him what it is he breathes, he will tell you that he breaths that which he plays. Emilien Leroy has fun with sound in spaces, in waste lands/being, or in mutation.

Le chant des marteaux
The hammer is not only the first ossicle of the middle ear, nor the tool of the auctioneer… It is before all the tool of the blacksmith, the tool of the iron and steel industry, a symbol for Carolos…total “hammer”. It is as families of toolboxes arriving to settle in Charleroi, that radiate and resound with a thousand hammer blows.
“It is for peace that my hammer works. Far from the guns…I live in freedom. The machines of battle are forever cursed. Only for humanity do I forge the iron…”

Sonic Tubes
A piping system has become an urban sonic sculpture that intermittently diffuses fluctuating sounds of the air.

Feromil
An ‘enfant terrible’ of an oxydated port, Feromil alias Emilien Leroy, makes metal sing.
Armed with a metal detector that he manages with his hand and arms, Feromil perpetuates the song of scrap metal and creates a universe that oscillates between a fairy world and apocalypse.
This Symphony for scrapers is an unusual performance, and is a cross between the post-Chernobyl, sound attacks, and great apocalyptic mass …
