Les oracles is a two-part interdisciplinary project aimed at building bridges between Quebecois and Belgian writers, choreographers, sound and visual/digital artists, who were welcomed as part of a creative residency in Quebec City and then in Brussels.

Between cords (Jean D.L.) and pleasant waves (Karen Willems) and restraints, they balance panoramic views. We know what hides behind them; something dissolves between their hands. They remind us of the kitchen… when it is dark and empty in the morning… and they play in this room… as if they wandered the street, in search of what belongs to us.

On the sidelines of Raymond Delepierre’s sound installation (X BELL X-1), Unfulfilleduo offers a performance based on the retroactive sound space, variations around feedback, increased / extended acoustics / Modified / generated by the architectural shapes and surfaces of this portion of the quai de la Sambre.

Consommations musicales à produire soi-même, le KEM est un ensemble d’instruments de musique électronique et mécaniques en réseau pour faire des rythmes, des mélodies, du sampling, des sons acoustiques. L’ensemble se présente donc sous la forme d’un bistrot convivial, un bar à sons dans lequel le public est invité à produire ses propres cocktails.

Une douzaine de modules faits maison à base d’escabeaux, de cages à oiseaux, de casseroles et autres bidules, truffés d’électronique en tous genres, font office d’ingrédients. . La libre manipulation des boutons permet au public de nourrir la création musicale…

Un vendredi qui fait le plein de rencontres urbaines, performances, poésie, conférence et partage d’écoutes, concert et balade sonore… Dans les trams du centre-ville de Charleroi, au PointCulture, à la Basilique Saint-Christoph, ou dans les rues de la ville.

City Sonic#15 – When Sound Transforms the City Initiated in 2003 by Transcultures, Centre for Digital and Sound Cultures, City Sonic defends sound creativity in all its contemporary dimensions.

Let us not forget the interdisciplinary Belgian-Canadian performances Oracles presented by the Theatre La Balsamine, programmed at the end of the festival. These amazing sound conceptualists do not only provide meaning but they actively win over our senses… and it is exactly this ‘sensory approach’ which is open to all curious ears, that City Sonic has chosen to address. This will set the tone of the City Sonic spirit by inviting all passers-by to come back the following day to attend the opening of the program in the city center.
