Maurice Charles JJ

Jean-Jacques Duerinckx aka Maurice Charles JJ (Braine L’Alleud) practices mainly soprano and baritone saxophones, his first influences being Steve Lacy, Antonny Braxton, John Surman, Hamiet Bluiett. His encounter with the saxophonists Lol Coxhill and Michel Doneda was decisive: his playing and musical style are guided in a universe where the material sound and the abstract melodies coexist and merge.
