In 2015, Transcultures launched the Cassette Art (micro) exhibition series, which intrenches galleries, showcases, and temporary spaces with cassettes released from various labels, including Transonic (an independent label dedicated to other sounds produced by Transcultures)…with limited edition having neat designs. At the Pop-Up Store, Transonic pays a lively and vibrant tribute to the audio cassette as a creative, sonic, graphic and relational medium with audio and visual archives dating back to the 80s when the cassette culture exploded but also objects recently released by other labels, cassettophiles, as well as a selection of recent street / tape art works by Thomas Dawamesk.

Transonic

An independent label produced by Transcultures, Transonic is dedicated to other sounds and adventurous music. In addition to monographic discs (Gauthier Keyaerts, Steve Kaspar, 48 Cameras …) or collective albums (including Sound Art compilations – audio catalogs of the City Sonic festival) in various formats (LP, CD, mini CD), Transonic launched the cassette series Limited edition Tapism dedicated to the culture of the cassette and traces of singular events, archives of the sparkling moment, cinematic audio and poetic memories. The first opus of Tapism celebrated this Cassette Art from the early 80s to the micro artistic editions of today.
