A new way to pay old debts
Daniel Dariel took walks through the subtle and moderate territories of Charleroi. He began to collect visual and photographic materials, objects, and field recordings. The way to organize these traces and forgotten stories that are extinct, creates an account— a scattered document which gives voice to testimonies— of unknowns and actors on the ground- that are sometimes mysterious, sometimes enlightened. A soundtrack reflects this drifting into a city full of nuances, a mutant city with a complex, contradictory and poetic identity.

Daniel Dariel is a graduate of the School of Graphic Research(ERG). If he engages in a practice which is as plastic as it is musical, the sound becomes an expression that he lives intuitively, through diverse forms of improvisations. In this hands on, all-out of frame-drummer…is a jazz energy, a punk violence, and a minimalist obsession.
