Composition pour Machins et Machines Sonores
In our environment influenced by domestic technologies, the office of our computers merges with the space of our memory, and its image-light is the mirror of our
movement in thought. While bringing back the play of these functional windows to proposals of quasi-neo-plasticians and by causing the sudden appearance of volume and matter that begins from this flat screen, Natalia De Mello manufactures utopian forms. She conceives indeed its limp monotypes like an artisanal and metaphorical translation of these machines of thought which are proceeded by abstraction, geometrisation and programming – according to principles that are not far from Mondrian and Van Doesburg – and she paints these objects built with the same meticulousness and in the same spirit. Absorbed about being in our computer screens surreptitiously becoming our daily office automation landscape, it is now advisable to domesticate these hybrid forms while learning how to live in good intelligence with them.
