Cassette Art
This exhibition pays tribute to the creativity of the alternative ‘tape culture” with a selection of archives from the 80s and Harold Schellinx’s recent visuals works (photos and sounds of his Found tapes), Dawamesk (sculptures from tapes), Julie Moulin (drawings commissionned by City Sonic).
On this occasion, the Transonic label produced an audio tape which is also the soundtrack of the exhibition with the participation of Midori Hirano, Harold Schellinx, Anton Mobin + McJJ / Bloem, Emmanuel Rebus,: such :, Pierre Belouin, Dawamek, Christophe Bailleau, Gauthier Keyaerts, Radio Prague & Stuff, Julien Demoulin, Felicia Atkinson, Hanzel & Gretel, Playtime, Dog As Master, Scanner.

Transonic - Label for the Unlabelled
Transonic is the name of the alter sound label, produced by Transcultures and initiated in 2012 by Philippe Franck (initially in collaboration with Gauthier Keyaerts). Transonic released several City Sonic sound art compilations (involving among others, Pierre Bastien, Bernard Heidsieck, Scanner, Jean-Paul Dessy, Baldwin Oosterlinck… and also some young artists or sound poets)… and also some solo albums (Keyaerts Gauthier, 48 Cameras, Steve Kaspar). Transonic has realeased some hybrid publications (Transatlantic-long haul with Rhizome-Québec in 2014, digital compilation with the book City Sonic, sound arts in the city – 01-2015) and launches a new series of audio audio in sept. 2015 (cassette Art).
