Le yaourt n’est pas un yoghourt (Sonic Pirates)
The “yaourt” (yoghourt) is the technique which enables non-English-speaking persons to sing any song of unknown words simply by imitating its sound.
From testimonies of different people, Christophe Bailleau embraces an overview both documentary and poetic, specially divided in three parts for the Sonic pirates course.
Christophe Bailleau
Christophe Bailleau is a multidisciplinary artist, who has been developing for over 15 years an unusual musical project.
His compositions are based on acoustic sources (guitar, percussion, vocals noises) crushed and mixed with concrete and household sounds. He creates a game based on patience, silence and stormy tension.
Since 2004, his compositions have been published on various European labels (Postcard, Eglantine, Annexia, Window, Soundscaping, Optical Sound …).
He also produced a sound poetry piece of work for radios and installations. Finally Christophe directed intriguing and poetic short films, recording lost moments, before or after an action.
A DVD of his short films before 2008 and published by 68/70 (Brussels) have been shown in many European festivals (Rotterdam, Argos, City Sonic ….)
