Air
Air is an installation that deals with a recurrent problem in Void’s work: the relationship between sound and silence. In this case, the speakers broadcast a sound frequency composition inaudible to the human ear (low infra). These beams of waves are channeled via plexiglass tubes. Their only outlet for air is a flute. The air movement created by the inaudible wave propels air into the instrument that begins to ring. It is a matter of materializing the metamorphosis of silence into sound, also of translating an imperceptible phenomenon for our senses (silence) into a sensible phenomenon. By the multiplication of the device, we obtain a sound composition that evokes organic nature and birds.
Production: Transcultures in partnership with Ars Musica.
