PAS/Sensitive Audio Course (listening in the city) (creation)
PAS – Sensitive Audio Course is a collective soundtrack, to open up, clear, write and feast on shared soundscapes. It is a question of wandering in our living environments, or elsewhere. It is the ear in construction, the enchanted ear, to listen in concert, quite simply. It is a matter of putting our flags on the watch, temporarily participating in a happy community of listeners. Our guide-walker Gilles Malatray (initiator of the blog desartsonnants and longtime accomplice of City Sonic) plays with acoustics, ambient sounds, sometimes makes the place ring or tells a small history of listening. He installs and uninstalls mini sounds, starts again, stops again. The participants build together a semi-spotted, semi improvised sound path, depending on occurances, events, or accidents… At the end of the walk, the walkers / listeners exchange site specific audio experiences.
Biography
Gilles Malatray animates Desartsonnants, a web site of the indestructible amateur (in the noble sense of the term). This very complete blog is a breeding ground for all lovers of the other sound, for more than 10 years. As a curious walker, he enjoys promenades in the city and in the forest as a “listening walker”,to quote Michel Chion.
His initial training courses are landscape and music (saxophonist), followed by literature studies, as well as a Master’s degree in “Cultural and artistic project management” from the University of Lyon. Over the years, he has built one of the largest and most interesting sources of information on sound arts.
