Motion Lines (creation)

Alain Wergifosse gazes at the vanishing lines of a railway during a trip to elsewhere and imagines sound flows with the eyes. Using a self-generating image analysis system, he modulates sounds to recompose what his ears have seen.

Sonic Live (création)

An electro-audio-organic performance by Alain Wergifosse equipped with various sound objects, echoing to some electronic sequences of Stephan Dunkelman‘s Hypothèses musicales (Musical Hypothesis), inside the device Écoutilles created by the latter.

Stephan Dunkelman‘s multi-channel device hosts several sound-selection programs as well as performances throughout the City Sonic @ Louvain-la-Neuve course, to be savored sitting at the bottom of a deckchair or on a cozy cushion.

Espace résonnant (creation)

At the entrance of the City Sonic exhibition at La Sucrerie, Alain Wergifosse proposes a resonance of a public space by real-time digital sound processing through a system of microphones, sensors and loudspeakers strategically distributed in the space and calibrated to react to the subtle variations in wind and light pressure that evolve dynamically throughout the day, recreating a sort of living organism shaped by the space itself. By choosing to calibrate the sensors to act especially on slower times, the resonant organism evolves less on biological rhythms than on times close to that of plants or that of rocks and mountains, by eroding itself.

Biography

Alain Wergifosse amplifies all kinds of resonant objects and specializes in the electronic processing of Larsen to realize his compositions and organic improvisations. he traveled through the world, solo and with various groups and collective projects: Obmuz, Macromassa, SpecOp, Colectivo Anatomic and others. For 10 years he composed the music and the sound interactions of the shows Marcel lí Antúnez (ex La Fura dels Baus) and he participated in many collaborations in Spain and Belgium. In recent years, he has focused more on the visual and realizes immersive installations, self-generative videos, microscopies and other compositions presented in several festivals and international events (City Sonic, MEM, Kikk, Week of Sound…).
